Installation Guide

Installing Foundation Fence Supply aluminum fencing and gate systems is designed to be straightforward and installation-friendly. This guide walks you through the basic steps. You’ll also find a list of recommended tools and installation resources to help ensure a smooth installation.

1. Measure Your Space

Use a tape measure to determine the total width of the area where your fence and/or gate will be installed. Next, decide how you want to divide the space between fence panels and gates.

Example: A 10 ft opening could be configured with

  • One 4 ft gate
  • One 6 ft fence panel

Foundation Fence Supply systems are modular, allowing you to configure your layout to suit your space.

2. Plan Your Layout

Mark the positions where each post will be installed, including:

  • Gate posts
  • Fence posts
  • End posts
  • Corner posts (if applicable)

Keep standard system sizes in mind:

  • Fence panels: up to 6 ft or 8 ft wide
  • Single gates: various widths available
  • Double gates: larger openings available

Example: A 20 ft opening could use

  • Double gate in the center
  • Fence panels on either side

Planning your layout before installing posts ensures proper spacing and alignment.

3. Customize if Needed

Foundation Fence Supply systems are designed for flexibility:

  • Slats can be cut to fit narrower openings
  • Posts can be trimmed to achieve custom heights
  • Panel widths can be adjusted during installation

This allows you to tailor the system to your exact project requirements.

4. Mark Post Locations

Once your layout is finalized:

  • Mark each post location
  • Use spray paint, stakes, or string line
  • Double-check measurements before installing posts

Accurate post placement is critical for a smooth installation.

5. Choose Your Post Installation Method

Foundation Fence Supply posts can be installed using multiple methods:

In Concrete

  • Recommended for maximum strength
  • Ideal for fence runs and gates
  • Most common installation method

Surface Mount (Base Plates)

  • Mount posts on concrete slabs or footings
  • Ideal for patios, driveways, and retaining walls
